Mind-Body Health

The Mind-Body Connection

Our world is evolving, and some aspects of society are not keeping up. Here at Orb, we believe conventional medicine is proving to be one element that is lagging behind. Yes, our medical system is exceptionally good in some areas of health such as acute trauma or infection, but when it comes to healing chronic illness, western medicine is failing miserably. Over 40% of the US population has some type of chronic illness; most of these have no known cause or cure. This number is only on the rise with no indication of relief.

We at Orb want to get the word out that a large part of this epidemic is fueled and exacerbated by the outdated theory that the mind and body are separate isolated systems. The truth is that the mind and the body are just two aspects of a single interconnected system - one cannot exist without the other. When one is only treating isolated systems and symptoms, huge pieces of the puzzle are being overlooked and even ignored. To help people attain real and sustainable health, the mind-body connection needs to be acknowledged, accepted and implemented.

People often misunderstand mind-body health by thinking that it somehow blames the patient for their illness or that it is simply positive thinking. This could not be farther from the truth. When you look at health and wellness through a whole body perspective, it encourages you to honor your deepest and truest self, empowering you to see your truth (both good and bad, without judgment). There is no blame here; only compassion, honesty, acceptance and the belief that you can attain all your hopes and dreams.

Learning about and personally experiencing the mind-body connection has the potential to rewrite a person's own narrative about their health while simultaneously alleviating many symptoms of chronic illness. With Orb, users will be guided through this process by utilizing the first ever mind-body tracking system plus strategically designed daily practices that coax their mind to accept a different paradigm: that our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs play a significant role in determining the physical condition of the body.

Currently, the only resources to accomplish this would be expensive personalized programs offered through coaching, therapy or functional/alternative medicine doctors. Orb can not only help those who don't have access to these modalities, but it can also be a vital tool for coaches and professionals to help their clients between visits.
